Episode 50: R.E.M. - And We Feel Fine with Special Guest Bryan Cooper
Indie artist, friend of the podcast, and Honorary Derringer, Bryan Cooper from Fukuoka, Japan, joined us for this episode on R.E.M. and College Rock.
This might be one of my favorite episodes, and most likey my favorite episode graphic, so far. It's a composite of two R.E.M. album covers and a bit of creative detective work. I absoutely love the hand-drawn background of R.E.M.'s album cover for Reckoning (1984). I also wanted to include the ribbon/banner from 1991's Out of Time.
I did some internet sleuthing while browsing Bryan Cooper's website for inspiration (there's plenty to find). I even peeked at the HTML code for his site - yes, I'm a geek - and discovered the font Bryan uses for his logo. It's called "daubmark," in case you're curious.
The result is the episode cover you see above. Speaking of artwork, you should definite check out
Bryan's website
to see the incredible artwork he's created for his singles. Not only is
Bryan
a highly gifted musician, but he's also an outstanding digital artist!
